A tour of Scotland’s capital is an absolute must for any inquisitive and enthusiastic traveller in search of their next adventure. Built on a cluster of seven hills on the idyllic east coast, Edinburgh embraces visitors with an eclectic variety of sights and culture, not to mention the wealth of singularly unique history. And there’s no better way to see this iconic location than through the eyes of someone who calls it home. That’s where TRIPorganiser comes in. Prepare to experience Edinburgh like no one else, and create unique memories in the city of a thousand tales.
If the weather chooses to cooperate, we suggest starting our tour at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Calton Hill, located in the heart of the city centre. With its Athenian acropolis framing the skyline, the site is a real treasure of the capital. From there, you can enjoy an incredible view of the hustle and bustle below, with an endless variety of both old and new rolling out as far as the eye can see; Edinburgh could easily be described as one huge attraction in itself. Around every corner and down every winding wynd, there’s something exciting to discover, explore and admire. Whether you’re visiting the medieval Old Town, which is situated on a volcanic mountain, or the Georgian New Town, the historical vibes are sure to transport you to another world.
But it’s impossible for Edinburgh’s rich history to be experienced in a single day – the Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, the St Giles’ Cathedral and Holyrood Palace are only a fraction of the cultural offerings in this enchanting city. Whether it’s a visit to the acclaimed National Museum of Scotland, the King’s Theatre, or if you’re very lucky, the world-renowned Fringe Festival, there’s ALWAYS something going on, as a celebration of tradition, or the birth of a new trend.
The Encyclopaedia Britannica dedicates one enormously decisive chapter to the history of Edinburgh, all of which is waiting to be explored and uncovered. It’s this heritage that has fed endless amounts of inspiration to creative residents, artists and writers throughout the centuries, including Robert Burns and J K Rowling. When visiting the city, it’s clear to see how fantastical stories and characters such as Sherlock Holmes, Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, and Harry Potter found their footing here.
Whatever wonders you’d like to visit, our three-hour bespoke tour, guided by expert locals, is the perfect way to explore the city. Prepare to take in the sights as they were meant to be experienced in our Edinburgh City trip; walking on Edinburgh’s charming cobblestones as we guide you through a maze of streets and hidden gems. And to top off the day, why not make time for an authentic Scottish whisky or a pint of some famous craft beer?

Our tours are always privately tailored to you. And the pricing is staggered with the amount of people attending. Please add the required number of people to see the price of your chosen tour. Also check out our advertised Tours of the Months for special discounts.
Normally since we have been in touch with you prior to the tour we should recognise you and you would not need to bring a receipt of booking. If we do however need for you to show a receipt (in case it’s one of our tour guides doing your tour) we let you know specifically beforehand to print or make sure you’d be able to show your confirmation digitally.
Anything that is listed as “included” is included in the price. But if you would like to visit any additional attractions for example you would have to pay those separately on entrance. Same applies to meals which are not mentioned in the “included” section.
Our luxury Mercedes Van comfortably sits 7 people. But if you are intending to bring luggage or if you’re intending to do a multi-day tour we suggest to reduce the group size to 4-5 people.
We can however always accommodate bigger groups as Sean has the licence to drive bigger vehicles – or we can ask our colleague to tandem up with us and we separate the group into two of the same vans. His van can sit 6 people.
For a day tour – just make sure you bring adequate clothing and shoe wear to accommodate for weather changes and outdoor conditions if necessary. If you want to have your personal lunch picnic – please bring that as well.
We provide bottled water and we have one child seat if needed.
For an extended tour – we’ll provide you with a longer list of confirmation documents you may need and a more extensive packing list.
British weather is always changing – so the rule is to dress with the “onion principle” – have as many layers as possible to quickly adjust to temperature changes and have appropriate clothing ready for wet & dry weather. If you like to go for a wander, we always recommend to wear comfortable walking shoes that keep you safe on any surface, from cobblestones to muddy paths.
