It'll suit you down to a "TEE" The worldwide sport is believed to have originated in Scotland sometime in the early 15th century, at the Old Course in St Andrews. It was actually banned along with football, in 1457, by King James II, apparently, the sports were seen as distractions to archery practice and Scotland's ongoing wars against England. The ban was eventually lifted by James IV in 1502, and the sport has stayed ever since! There are a lot of golf courses to enjoy across Scotland, actually over 550, with so many within easy reach of Edinburgh city centre. It’s paradise on earth for golf enthusiasts, but if you’re looking for a experience like no other, look no further...... Easily accessible from Edinburgh's town centre for you to choose are:
  • Kingsbarns
  • North Berwick
  • St. Andrews
  • St. Andrews Bay at Fairmont Hotel
  • Gleneagles for lunch, golf and / or shooting
  • Musselburgh Old Course
  • Golf Experience at Kingsfield Golf Course and steak lunch at the legendary Champany Inn
