Red Skye at night, Beryl's delight.
A few weeks ago I had the unabashed pleasure of spending some time on the beautiful Isle of Skye.
The weather was glorious (so much so I had the rare pleasure of taking my yoga practice outside! Namaste indeed.)
While I adore the Inner Hebrides, and Skye is no less than breathtaking I have to share with you about the most fabulous restaurant on Skye.
Red Skye.
Family run by John & Lesley Brown, Red Skye quite frankly blew me away by the fabulous quality of their food and the charm of their establishment. Located in the former Breakish primary schoolhouse (built 1876) this restaurant that delivers traditional Scottish food with a generous helping of charm.
Traditional Scottish food can invoke images of haggis, mashed potatoes and a lot of fried fares, not to forget the uniquely unhealthy deep fried Mars Bars.
Red Skye elevates traditional Scottish cuisine to a much more elegant standard.
For starters,I had the smoked salmon.
Followed by the absolutely heavenly Venison.
I adored my meal at Red Skye, the ambience, the food, the company.
If you are searching for a memorable traditional Scottish restaurant on the Isle of Skye, I can not recommend it highly enough.
PS: make sure you make a reservation in advance so that you're not standing there facing a fully booked restaurant. - Yes it's that popular.
