Happy New Year! – Haud Hogmanay! Everything You Need To Know About Hogmanay and New Year’s Celebrations in Scotland New Year’s celebrations are recognised worldwide
Even if you don’t drink in Edinburgh, if you’ve been doing it right, you’ll probably be tired and in need of a proper fortifying breakfast to start the New Year on the right foot.
Epicurean that I am, I’ve got a list of my favourite cafés that you should try.
The Blue Bear, Brandon Terrace (from 11am)
Award winning café, dog-friendly, with free wi-fi, excellent coffee and the most satisfying poached eggs in the city you cannot go wrong with a visit to the Blue Bear. Be sure to book a table at the weekend to avoid disappointment.
Project Coffee, Bruntsfield Place (from 10am)
Fantastic coffee, with superb scones, this classy little café in Bruntsfield takes its breakfasts seriously, and that’s how I like it. Get the scrambled eggs on wholemeal bread - you won’t be disappointed.
Urbanangel Hanover Street (from 10am)
If organic and fairtrade is how you like your food and your coffee - make this your first stop for a slap-up breakfast. The French toast is quite spectacular
The Pantry North West Circus Place (from 10.30)
Fresh and home made cooked breakfast with some nice twists to make things exciting. Or try the home-made Granola...
