Hey friends, it’s Beryl & Sean here!
We hope you’re all well and staying safe during the ongoing lockdown – we’ve been doing much the same here in Edinburgh. This isn’t a typical kind of blog entry, as we normally like to focus on sharing interesting facts and tips about our wonderful country. But new times call for new practices, so we thought we’d send out a little update on what we’ve been thinking, doing, and feeling over the last few weeks in lockdown!
The outbreak and subsequent worldwide lockdown have undoubtedly shaken the travel industry as a whole. Passenger planes are parked, tourist attractions are closed, even the typically bustling streets of iconic Edinburgh are essentially empty.
We’re not too sure what impact the virus will have on the industry, or how long any impact would last, but we’re staying positive throughout the situation. One thing’s for certain – and that’s the fact that wanderlust is powerful. It may take some time for things to get back to normal, but we know that the irresistible charm of discovering new sights, tastes, and cultures will have people itching to explore sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, we’ve decided to bring Scotland to you with a new weekly interview series called #TRIPchat. We hope these live sessions will provide some travel inspiration, comic relief, and an opportunity for you to learn something new about our wonderful country by way of some pretty amazing guests!
If you miss the live filming, don’t worry as the shows can also be watched later on, either directly on our Facebook page or our YouTube channel.
Each show will be hosted by yours truly and will feature an interview with an interesting guest!
Upcoming guests for the month of May include (subject to change):
- May 12th at 12pm BST – Jutta Norris – a local guide sharing Glasgow’s hidden gems
- May 14th at 3pm BST – Lisa Römer – sharing her tips for Motorcycle travel
Let us know if there’s anyone special you’d like to see – we’ll do our very best to make it happen!
